Update on Carolina

Today we went back to the hematology clinic to get Carolina's platelet levels checked. They had dropped to 65,000, which they assured me was not uncommon. After receiving IVIG treatments, and having a great response to the treatment, they said the levels will sometimes drop off. We go back next Wednesday to check her levels again. If her levels drop to a dangerous level again, (which is a possibility - hopefully small), then she will receive another IVIG.
Please pray that her levels will go up some more or at least stay level and not drop into the dangerous zone again. We have so appreciated the prayers, e-mails, comments and concerns for our sweet baby girl. Please keep praying!

I don't have a blog nor have I left a comment before but I can't help but comment here. I too had ITP when I was 18 years old (29 years ago). I was very sick for months before the doctors discovered what was wrong with me. I eventually had to have my spleen removed and once that was done I began to recover. The ITP has been in remission every since. I will keep Carolina in my prayers and if you have any questions that I might could answer please feel free to email me at pkmerritt9461@yahoo.com.
