Our little squirrel

So I've been absent from blog land lately. . . But this post makes it all worth it (in my opinion). This video CRACKS. ME. UP. It allows you to see a glimpse of our spunky, sassy, sweet, determined little Carolina Grace. (and trying to upload this video helped me find yesterday's video . . . ) Sorry for two videos in a row!

Before scrolling any more, you really should take the time to watch the video first . . . It's like watching a little squirrel foraging her nuts for the winter. :)

So. . . she's been a bit obsessive about playing in the silverware drawer for the past few weeks. Why? I have no idea, but I don't mind because she can't hurt herself and it's better than most drawers. Anyways, she has been taking a few of her spoons lately and putting them on the train table in the same spot in one little pile. At the end of the day I just put them back in the drawer.

Well, last night I was finishing up some baking in the kitchen when she had started rummaging through "her" drawer. I joined Lawton and Chad in the living room while they were engrossed in Alton Brown's Good Eats show. (?) I realized that the silverware was making more "clinking" than usual and kept on seeing a very determined little Pebbles running back and forth, fistfuls of silverware in tow.

Well, you can see from the video at what stage in the emptying process I caught her. :)

Her pile:
And this is the first time she has posed and smiled for me in months when asked. Seriously. She was PROUD.

Oh well. I needed to clean out my drawer anyways . . .

Oh yeah. . . she hoarded all her magnetic refrigerator letters by the door on Sunday. . . :) **Lawton did the EXACT same thing at this age, except his drawer was the bib drawer. Repeatedly he would fling all the bibs out, rub his hands on the empty drawer and smile contently. I wonder if this is going to be an every day occurrence?

It's a good thing it's almost Spring. :)

she speaks

she speaks from Laura Beth High on Vimeo.

I uploaded this two months ago and somehow it never made it to the blog. She really has something (?) to say! ha! She is talking so much more now than two months ago!!
