There's some changin' going on around here!

Well, as of last week, Lawton is now officially in a "big boy bed"! We had been talking it up for a while, and actually had everything but the mattress for a while, too. He is using my bed and denim comforter that I had growing up (I know. . . a denim comforter as a teenager is not very girly, but I picked it out to go with yellow walls and bright curtains and pillows . . .) and it works out perfectly now in his room. His nursery was cowboys, so all I had to do was sew some pillow shams and call it a big boy room! He has done great and I think he loves being all snuggled down in sheets and having a big ol' pillow! We were a little nervous about the transition - but he adjusted pretty well to a change once again!

We also painted our little girl's nursery this weekend! Yep - it's pink! Chad and I were both like, Wow. It's pink. Hmmm. But it is growing on me and I think I really like it now. Hopefully we (I) will feel confident enough to release her name to the blogging world soon. We actually know her first name, but are still undecided on the middle name.

Here's a funny story from about a month ago that I have been meaning to post that I'll leave you with.

Santa brought Lawton a Bible with stories on CD (It's great if anyone wants info - let me know) Anyways, we had listened to David and Goliath for the first time before nap one day. After nap, I was asking him questions about the story . . .

Me: What did David throw at Goliath to make him fall?
Lawton: (Thinks for a second, looks up at me and says) A fit.
Me: (Trying to hold back laughter) No, that's what you throw. David threw a stone.
Lawton: Oh.

I guess he's heard me say too many times to quit "throwing" fits. :) Have a great day!

A Getaway to Gatlinburg

Right before New Year's, we went to Gatlinburg with my mom and dad and sister and brother-in-law. We stayed in the most awesome cabin very close to downtown Gatlinburg. We were actually the very first people to ever stay in the cabin . . . they even forgot to take some of the wrapping off the inside of the refrigerator! We relaxed a lot, and got in some great fam time.



Lawton thought it was necessary to take Noni's earmuffs so that he could stay warm!

Lawton is snug as a bug in a rug now!



Lawton was checking out the rapids with Daddy! He loved throwing the rocks into the water. I tried several times to upload a video that my dad took, but was unsuccessful and I finally just gave up! I loved watching the thrill on his face every single time he threw a rock . . . such a boy!



This was one of Lawton's favorite places in the cabin - the movie room with his own recliner! Thomas the Tank Engine and Finding Nemo are not the same at home now after his "movie room" experience!

Golfing at Hillbilly Golf in downtown Gatlinburg. I had never been there, but it was really nice! Lawton LOVED playing putt-putt! He especially loved going up the incline!


We had a great time with my family! Hopefully we will get to go again next year - but it will be interesting with two babies in tow!
