I thought this day would never come . . .

When I told Chad this afternoon that I thought this day would never come, he thought I was referencing the fact that our children were playing happily together, or maybe that I had lost all the weight that I want (which I haven't), or any other lofty goal. But no. After spending the day at the pool and having pool hair, I went to put on my ball cap and gasped in the mirror at what I saw. . .
Did you see it? Look really close. . . those are ringlets. Now, for those of you who don't really know me or haven't known me all my life, this is no big deal. But, if you have watched me grow up, then you know I used to have STICK STRAIGHT HAIR. The kind of hair that curly headed people envy. That straight. Straight as in when I had a pony tail the wispies weren't cute at all.

After Lawton was born, I developed one huge wave in the back of my hair that you could see if my hair air dried. After Carolina was born last year, my hair got wavier, and this summer even more so. Well, only wavy in the back section . . . it is still straight on the sides. Pretty, huh?

My pregnancies have left me many "gifts", and this is one of them I suppose. Last week in a kickboxing class at the Y, we had to do jumping jacks while it was our partner's turn on the bag. I almost couldn't do the jacks. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you haven't had children. Don't ask.

But the greatest gifts from my pregnancies? Well, this is one of them. And she has a little ringlet in the back - with stick straight hair on the sides - just like her momma. :)

Love Carolina's curl!

Pregnancy does some crazy things to your body... My hair is crazy wavy these days. Oh the joys...

i am laughing hysterically right now at your jumping jacks comment. i tried to do a workout video a few weeks ago and was devastated to come to the same sad realization. i had a nine+ pound baby! i guess i should be glad i can still jog :) as long as nothing is funny while i'm doing it :)

I know what you're saying Laura Beth! AND I haven't had any babies yet. Early in the summer I washed my hair and let it ari dry one night....I never do that...and the next time I looked in the mirror I had some spiral curls!!! CRAZY! Guess for me I can only chalk it up to hormones.

You are cracking me. I so can NOT do jumping jacks, or jumping in any other way, shape or form for that matter!
It looks like you guys had a great time in Disney! We went in Dec and loved it.

As one of your "enviers" (I know that's not a word!) I'm very proud of your little curl! And just the mere mention of jumping jacks makes me need to go to "another room"!

Laura Beth, It was great seeing you today! Your kids are precious. I enjoyed scrolling down and looking at your Disney pics. Disney World is my favorite place, I can't help but smile when I see pictures of people having fun there. Hope Chad has a great start to the school year, and I hope to run into you again soon.
