On our way back from camping, we stopped at Rock City. Our original plan was to go to the aquarium, but then decided that parking in downtown Chattanooga with a camper might not be the easiest. So, instead, we decided to pull our camper up the winding, drop off cliffs of Lookout Mountain. ha!When we told Lawton that we were going to Rock City (which neither of us had ever been to despite seeing the signs ALL our lives) he was adamant "I DON'T like Rock City. I don't want to go there." yaddy yaddy ya. We just ignored him and kept on going.
When we were within twenty feet of entering the "Enchanted Trail", Lawton yelled out gleefully, "SEE! I TOLD you I was going to like it!" um- hum. We just looked at each other and smiled. Everything always has to be his idea. He can be so bossy sometimes.
Look how excited he is. He LOVED it.
Here is the swinging bridge. He wasn't too crazy about this at first (and neither was I), but at the end he was so proud because he was so "brave". :)
Here is Chad and Carolina at the look-out area where you can see seven states. (Seriously?) We indulged Lawton and actually put in a quarter in the binoculars. Chad was taking a turn and I was messing with Carolina when we realized that Lawton was standing on the stand of the binoculars trying to look in the other end at Chad - and VERY close to the railing of probably a, oh, 1000 foot drop off. We grabbed him and jetted away from there, trying to put our hearts back in our chests. Remember from the last post how he almost plunged off the cliff (again). Who are his irresponsible, not-holding-on-to-their-busy-three-year-old-boy parents anyways? Sheesh.
Here we are about to enter Fat Man Squeeze. I love this Home Alone picture. :)Lawton has asked about six or seven times if we can go back to Rock City. I'm glad he "didn't" like it and "didn't" want to go. :)
I posted a video below - just in case you don't have anything else better to do - but you might not if you are actually reading all the way to the bottom of this post. ha! :)

Grant is the same way about saying he does not like places, things, etc. even if he's never been there, etc. Must be the age & exercising their opinions! Lord help us!
Great pictures and video! What a fun trip. That first picture is so funny! Love it.
That story of Lawton saying he didn't want to go and then changing his mind was so funny! Jason and I were just talking about Rock City. I'm like you, I've always seen the signs, but I have never been. Glad that you guys had such a great trip together!
I think it's great that you guys took a camping trip. I know the kids will have great memories from those experiences. Y'alls family is so cute. I'm glad you've got a little girl now too.
