Last fall, I went to the Y to have a wellness assessment (or something like that) to give me a baseline for all the baby weight that I was going to loose (which is just now starting to happen . . . ugh.) Anyways, they took my weight, asked me some questions, checked my flexibility (one of the few things that was good) and took my BMI. I knew they would do the BMI (Body Mass Index) and just the thought of this gave me the heebie jeebies before hand - do I really need to know how bad it really is when I already know it is bad?Sooo . . . the girl took her little pincers and checked my thighs, my stomach maybe, and then my arm/tricep. The girl says (seriously) "MAN! You have some thick arms!" Seriously. I have never considered decking someone right then and there in my entire life until that moment. I just looked at her, taken aback, thinking, "And why do you think I'm here?" I know that I have "thick" arms and didn't need her to point that out to an already self conscious, four month postpartum mom, who doesn't have the best "arm" gene pool anyways (no offense, Mom). Oh, and can you tell I still haven't gotten over it? I just needed to get this off my chest.
So, I was thinking, if I were Michelle Obama, what would I flaunt? Hmmmm . . . do you think ankles could be a focal point of an "official" portrait? Because, Mrs. Y wellness assessor, I've got some mad good ankles.

You crack me up! I needed a little laugh this morning. And tell that fitness lady that we have "thick" arms b/c we're mommies that tote around kiddos all day. That "thick" is hard core muscle! (We can dream, right?!)
You are too funny! I'm on the thick arm wagon too! I had chiseled arms for all of 4 months right before we got married, and 3 weeks later I was pregnant...go figure! I'm sure I'll never have those arms back. I think I'd flaunt collar bones because it's one of my only bones that sticks out!
So funny, LB. I used to work at the Y and give wellness assessments, so your post really took me back. Hopefully no comment that ridiculous ever left my mouth! Thanks for a good laugh today!
How funny!!! You do have nice ankles!
